Happy New Year 2015

Happy New Year, everyone! I hope the new year is already off to a great start for you! I took it easy last night by staying up past the countdown in the comfort of my home (and PJ's) with the person I care for the most. ^_^ If you were out and about, I hope it was crazy fun and that you woke up feeling fresh and ready to start the new year with positive thoughts, enthusiasm, and determination!

My new year's resolutions

  1. Smile more, laugh more, and don't take everything so seriously. Learn to listen and let go.
  2. Drink more water and cut down on sugary drinks. ^_^ (That Starbucks Double Chocolaty Chip Crème Frappuccino, though! I'll try!)
  3. Relocate. I move every few years since I was 15 and this year I'm feeling the itch to move again!

Happy new year, Jaa! I didn’t know you’ve been moving every few years since you were 15! Although, silly question: what do you plan to do with all that makeup? LOL Just thinking about having to move all of it gives me a terrible headache!

So psyched about that Hourglass quint! I don’t think it’s for me because I don’t use matte shades that much, but I’m sure those who do will love it :)

    • Jaa says:

I’m trying to figure that out as well, Sunny! LOL! I’ll probably do a blog sale or something! There’s NO way I could haul all of my makeup to the new place! But the thought of parting with them… arghh… T_T

I’m excited to play with the HG Infinity! I can’t wait until they launch all the other colors later this month! :D :D

  • Agata says:

Happy New Year, girl! I like your New Year resolutions and I am looking forward to new features and reviews on your blog! I am really curious about that Hourglass palette! Where are you thinking of moving to?

    • Jaa says:

Happy New Year, Agata! I’m still looking at a few options! I’ll let you know once I have made my decision! ^_^

  • brenda says:

Happy new year Jaa, may it be filled with love, joy and plenty of make-up!

    • Jaa says:

That is THE BEST New Year’s wish I have received so far, Brenda! What makeup addict wouldn’t like more makeup! Hahaha! I also wish you a brand new year full of happiness, laughter, friends, and yes, makeup, lots and lots of makeup!!! :D :D

  • Fiona says:

    Hey Jaa! Happy new year

  • Xuvious says:

Happy New Year Jaa! Hope you have a great 2015! ^_^
Very intrigued by that Hourglass palette.

  • Erin says:

It’s hard to let things go! I save Starbucks as a weekly treat now that I’m back in the USA. It’s my reward for getting up at the buttcrack of dawn to do my weekly shopping.

My number one tip for getting off soda: Get flavored fizzy water and mix it with a healthier juice. My favorite is Lime water and Tart Cherry. I make it once or twice a week. Tart Cherry is pretty good for muscle fatigue, endurance, and helping you sleep better. I don’t use a ton of the juice, just enough to flavor the water. Try it 50/50 to start and then you can reduce it if you need. I’m perfectly happy with flavored fizzy water plain too. I’ve never had a soda problem though. My husband had one and he’s down to almost no soda ever. He gets one ever few weeks on the way home after work as an occasional treat but it’s not in our daily lives anymore!

    • Jaa says:

Starbucks: I will definitely cut down on the amount but I don’t think I am bold enough to do just once a week! I’ll start with 3 cups a week to see how it goes!

Soda: I actually don’t drink soda at all. I just love those mixed fruit juice drinks that have so much sugar in it! I’ll give your recipe a try! Thanks so much, Erin!

Happy New Year, Jaa! <3 (((((((((((((JAA))))))))))))) My blog BFF! :-D

Allow me to present you with the very first OMGWTFBBQ! of 2015, to express my excitement for the upcoming posts, and all your new content and general awesomeness in the coming year! <3

    • Jaa says:

Haha, thanks, my dearest Syl! Happy New Year to you as well! I can’t wait to see what’s in store for us at The Painted Rogue! :D

  • Lily says:

Happy new year Jaa! Wow relocating every few years sounds tedious to me >_< I'm actually tempted to try the chocolate palettes, when I've told myself not to buy anymore eye shadows. I guess it's not hard to refrain when I'm at home most of the time but online shopping is the devil. LOL!

  • PM says:

    Happy New Year!

    Good luck with your move!

Looking forward to reading your thoughts about the HG palette.

  • Laarni says:

Are you an expat? Hrhrhrhr. I love your resolutions! I think I also need to cut down my sugar intake like cakes and donuts! I am excited for the reviews! Keep ’em comin’!

    • Jaa says:

LOL can’t help it! It’s exhausting to move for sure but it’s also exciting to be in a new city surrounded by new people! :) Or maybe I just haven’t found a place that I truly like yet. :)

  • Eesha says:

Oh my relocating! This is the last thing I would ever want to do in my life. I just hate the packing and unpacking stuff, and it gets worse when one of your favourite thing gets damaged.

Btw, looking forward to see your review on that lovely Chanel blush. I am wondering would anyone ever like to smear that lovely pattern!

  • Happy New Year, Jaa, I love your resolutions, I will try to follow the first one as well! I look forward to seeing what you have in store for us this year :-)

  • Audrey says:

I’ve never had much of a move, before, except for going to college. I think it would be so refreshing to just pack up and go to somewhere entirely different. I’ve always liked the idea of moving to the deep south or Alaska, lol! No clue why..I hate being hot and I hate being cold! More realistically, though, there’s a ton of job openings for math teachers at the beach in Oregon, and I’m seriously considering applying to many of the jobs there, instead of staying in the PDX area. Also, I can’t wait to see your review of the Hourglass palette! Thanks for the sneak peak and I’m glad you had a wonderful New Year, Jaa!

    • Jaa says:

Haha same here, Audrey! I hate where I live right now because it’s so cold! But moving back to my home country is also super hot! I don’t know what to do! LOL. Alaska? Well, that’s an interesting choice of place there for sure! :D Good luck with your job searching! I hope you get the job at a place you desire! Happy New Year! <3

  • Caitlin says:

I’ve been following your blog for a while, and yours owns one of the ones that inspired me to build my own site :) Happy New Year girl!

    • Jaa says:

Oh wow, thanks so much, Caitlin! That means a lot to me! :) I wish Beauty & Colour great success! And Happy New Year!! :D

  • Shari says:

Happy new year, Jaa! I only wish the best for you this 2015! Your dedication and creativity is unparalleled! I dont know how else you can improve on photography because it is DA BOMB already. Every photo looks like it can be used by the brand for their marketing/press releases! :) But yes, it won’t hurt learning new tips and tricks! I wish to see some behind-the-scenes action from you, babe! The blogging process, etc. Also a few personal posts so we can get to know you more (I’d certainly love to!) :)
But all in all, keep doing what you’re doing love!!!

    • Jaa says:

Hey Shari! *waves* THANK YOU SO MUCH for your continued support and encouragement! I didn’t know people want to know more about me. ^_^ Thanks for your input, I’ll keep them in mind! :D And Happy New Year to you as well! HUGS!
