If you are into makeup, you know this weekend is the craziest time of year because everything at Sephora is 20% off! The sale started on Wednesday for VIB Rouge and Thursday for VIB and tomorrow (Monday, November 10th) is the last day to shop the sale. If you haven't done your shopping, don't wait any longer! A lot of items that are in high-demand such as limited-edition gift sets and palettes are mostly out of stock now on the web but do check your local Sephora store for availability, they might still have some left! In today's post I'll show you a few photos I took of the VIB Rouge Holiday Soirée Event I went on Wednesday night with my friend as well as what I bought from the sale. :)

VIB Rouge Holiday Soirée Event

I went pretty early so there weren't a lot of people yet but by the time we left, the store was pretty packed. The event was closed-door and only VIB Rouge and a friend could enter. There was a lot of action going on including a nail station (where you actually get your mani done for free!), a hair station, a face steam station, as well as a brow station. There was also a snack and drink table where I may or may not have circled around multiple times. ^_^” Brand ambassadors were also present to give you personalized advice on their products. The Beauty Studio was also very busy with people getting their makeover. :)

Sephora makeup tote and Shashi Bracelet

A Rouge member also received a limited-edition tote and a Shashi x Sephora bracelet with purchase. The tote is not limited to one per client as said in the fineprint, though, since the store also gave me another one when I went back the next day. If you shop online, the tote will automatically be added to your order (1 tote per order). The bracelet, however, was only given in store at the event and limited to one per client.

My purchases aka mini haul

I did well this year! I behaved! LOL! I didn't go crazy like I used to in previous years and only limited myself to the items that I “really” wanted. :) My mini haul includes:

  • Marc Jacobs Beauty Style Eye-Con No.7 Plush Shadow in The Vamp and The Starlet
    ▶US$59 | Buy
I wanted to try Marc Jacobs eyeshadow palettes for so long! I couldn't decide between the two so my friend threw both into my basket for me. LOL. She knew I was going to come back for the other one anyway! Bad friend. ;D
  • Marc Jacobs The Sky-Liner Seven Piece Petite Highliner Collection
    ▶US$45 | Buy
I love Marc Jacobs Highliner Gel Eye Crayons (review) so of course I could not say no to this limited-edition set that includes 7 mini pencils of the shades that I see myself wearing everyday. Shades include O(vert), Brown(out), Th(ink), (Plum)age, Blacquer, Sunset, and Midnight in Paris.
  • NARS Digital World Lip Pencil Coffret
    ▶US$49 | Buy
I was so drawn to the holiday-themed acrylic keepsake box of this set! Included are 2 Velvet Matte Lip Pencils in Cruella and Iberico and 3 Satin Lip Pencils in Peach Coral, Shocking Pink, and Yu. See my review of the Satin Lip Pencils.
  • Caudalie Make-Up Remover Cleansing Water
    ▶US$28 | Buy
This item was a spur-of-the-moment purchase! I've been loyal to the Koh Gen Do Cleansing Spa Water but it was out of stock both online and in-store, so I thought I'd try something new! If you have tried this one by Caudalie, please let me know your experience with it!
  • Dior Diorsnow White Reveal UV Shield SPF 50
    ▶US$59 | Buy
A staple I always stock up on during the sale! I have tried many sunscreens from different brands but I always come back to this one. :) (review)
  • Smashbox Pore Minimizing Foundation Primer
    ▶US$39 | Buy
My new favorite pore-minimizing primer! I have almost finished my sample (mini review) so I decided to grab a full size during the sale. I will have a complete review up soon!

Extra: The Pampered Party Prep sample set

Unfortunately with Sephora, you can't stack coupon codes. I actually bought the NARS Digital World Lip Pencil Coffret at full price so I could redeem this sample set! There are 3 selections (bags) to choose from and I went with the Pampered Party Prep one which includes:

  1. Laura Mercier Flawless Skin Face Plish ▶US$32 | Buy
  2. Cover FX Calming Primer ▶US$38 | Buy
  3. Fresh Seaberry Moisturizing Face Oil ▶US$50 | Buy
  4. Glamglow Powermud Dualcleanse Treatment ▶US$69 | Buy
  5. Benefit Stay Flawless 15-Hour Primer Stick ▶US$32 | Buy
  6. Nude Omega Cleansing Jelly ▶US$38 | Buy
  7. Living Proof Satin Hair Serum ▶US$29 | Buy
  8. Lancôme Advanced Génifique Youth Activating Concentrate ▶US$84 | Buy
  9. A makeup pouch

The A Bright Night Out set looks really good, too, as it has a Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick, Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil, and Marc Jacobs Lip Vinyl Sheer among other things. Sadly, you can only use the coupon code (SEASONSET) once to redeem only one bag. :(

The Pampered Party Prep: Laura Mercier Flawless Skin Face Polish, Cover FX Calming Primer, Fresh Seaberry Moisturizing Face Oil, Glamglow Powermud Dualcleanse Treatment, Benefit Stay Flawless 15-Hour Primer Stick, Nude Omega Cleansing Jelly, Living Proof Satin Hair Serum, and Lancôme Advanced Génifique Youth Activating Concentrate

Oh God, I am like SOOOO JEALOUS!!! SOOOO jealous!!! I wish I could take part in this. Look at those mini cupcakes! :p

I have tried the Caudalie micellar water, but I don’t remember why I didn’t like it as much as Bioderma Sensibio. I can’t wait to hear about what you think though! :)

    • Jaa says:

I thought you were jealous about all the makeup! Cupcakes huh??! LOLOLOL!! I can’t wait to try the Caudalie water! I hope I like it! :)

  • Laura says:

I love my Shashi bracelet! I actually got the sample bag that you got AND the Bright Night Out one as well because of the early VIB Rouge code (I think it was VIBSEASON? I was able to use that, and then the next day when everyone else could use SEASONSET, the website let me use that one as well!).

    • Jaa says:

Omg yes, I remember that email now! Thanks so much, Laura! I wonder if the code is still valid! I should try it!! You, genious you! Hehe. Are you done with your shopping? ;D Your haul must be massive!!! ;D

      • Laura says:

In addition to my F&F haul, I also got the Becca ombre eyeshadow palette, a Korres set with 4 different face masks (I love the Nectarine one, it’s amazing), the BITE Mix n Mingle set, Benefit You Go Gals, Dr Jart BB Duo, another Bumble & Bumble invisible oil primer, and more BITE lush lip wipes. I am not sure if I’m done shopping yet, haha.

        • Jaa says:

Omg Laura! Of all people, you should be a beauty blogger! LOL! Your blog would be so much fun to read since you have the newest products all the time! How do you like the Bite lip wipes? I really want to try them but Christine’s review kind of makes me hesitate. :)

          • Laura says:

I like the lush lip wipes a lot for on-the-go, I keep a couple in my purse. The cost isn’t really practical to use them ALL the time though, if I’m at home when I want to remove my lipstick/stain I’ll just use the Sephora oil-in-gel lipstick remover or some actual oil (jojoba or maracuja mostly) and a tissue.

            • Jaa says:

Ahhh maybe I should give it a try! I’ve been so tempted! I haven’t heard of the sephora oil-in-gel lipstick remover before. Looking it up as we speak!

  • Rachelle Yeo says:

Haha how is this a mini haul!! Fantastic buys though.

The packaging for the NARS set is to-die-for!!!

    • Jaa says:

But I only bought 7 items! I think it’s mini!!! ;D I know right… I so wanted to buy the cheek palette, too, just for the packaging. But I already have almost all the colors. :-/

  • Lily says:

NICE!! I wouldn’t call that a mini haul though :-P

  • Karina says:

OMG! I’m already waiting for your reviews :D For some reason the Nars satin lip pencils don’t work well with my lips :C btw I bought the smashbox primer, you convinced me!!!

    • Jaa says:

No? How come? Are they too drying or something? How do you like the Smashbox primer? Do you like it/hate it? Do tell me! :D

  • Liz says:

I’d say this is a decent sized haul for a beauty blogger, lol. I didn’t bother with MJ makeup – too expensive in Canada.

Am I the only one that can’t stand the totes and bracelet and useless crap that they toss in to try to make it look like a big deal? It’s not like we don’t already have a hundred other totes, and I’m sorry but that bracelet… ugh.

    • Jaa says:

LOL. I normally don’t care too much for the tote but I do enjoy the samples that come with it! I’ve received some really nice deluxe samples that I liked and ended up purchasing the full-sized. As for the bracelet, I think it is kind of cute! Too bad it’s too big for my wrist. I have abnormally small wrists. -_-“

  • Dee says:

Nice haul Jaa. I actually missed the event the day of (the 5th) but did buy stuff the day after heh. I also didnt go to0 crazy but did manage to pick up items that I really have been wanting to try.buy as well ! I dont know why but no matter how many reviews I read about the Marc Jacobs stuff I don’t feel like actually buying any of it…lol. I have a feeling your macro photos are going to change my opinion Jaa ;)

    • Jaa says:

That’s the thing about Marc Jacobs makeup! When they first launched, nothing spoke to me at all and I held off on trying their products for a long time. Until I purchased my very first product from them and now I can’t stop! LOL! Something about it just keeps me going back for more. Maybe it’s a good thing that you haven’t tried anything yet. ;)

  • Samantha Q says:

Mini cupcakes!! I love all your purchases. Definitely impressed with the Marc Jacobs eye pencil set because it’s so rare that i can see myself wearing every color as well. xx

    • Jaa says:

I make it my mission to try everything from the brand. LOL. The eye pencil is among my top favorite products from the line, though! Yep, all the colors are nice and wearable. :D

  • Erin says:

I would call this a moderate haul! Can’t wait to hear about the cleansing water!

    • Jaa says:

I love it, Erin! The smell is very refreshing and it seems to remove my everyday makeup well! More in-depth review to come! :)

  • Sylirael says:

OH GODS LOOK AT ALL THE PRETTIES! I think we’re having another OMGWTFBBQ!! moment here *fans self*. I can’t wait to see all your reviews of these! And the fabulous looks you’ll do, of course, with your fabulous eyeshadow skillz {{{{{JAA}}}}} ;-)

Of course, you know I’m waiting on tenterhooks to find out how things turned out with my sample bag… ;-) #impatientrogue

  • Looks like you had a wonderful time! Those mini cupcakes are soooo yummm! I love everything in your haul.

  • Carolyn says:

Hi Jaa!! First of all, I wanted to apologize as I’m so behind on all my blog subscriptions (including yours!) and hope to get caught up soon. Anyway, just wanted to say thank you for this lovely post — I didn’t actually make it in store to the Rouge event but did quite a haul online! Will you be reviewing the MJ liner set? :) I didn’t pick it up since I already have a few of them and Blacquer didn’t work for me, but I’m still curious!

Hope you are well, dear — hugs!

    • Jaa says:

I will review the MJ liner set, Carolyn! :D Sometimes next week hopefully! :)

What did you buy? Please share!! I’m nosy and I can’t help it! LOL!
