Here's the other item I bought along with the Nude Wear Touch of Glow Concealer/Highlighter from Physicians Formula Nude Wear collection – the Glowing Nude Blush! Oh, just look at the packaging – PRETTY I KNOW! :)
There are 2 shades available for the blush – Rose and Natural. I picked up Rose as I've been a little obsessed with pink blushes lately. The packaging of the Nude Wear collection is all about metallic rose-gold bows and pale pink stingray patterned faux leather, which together creates a beautiful and may I add, really girly theme!
The blush compact is a little bulky due to a cushiony back compartment where a good-sized mirror and a mini brush are located. The front lid has a clear plastic window allowing the display of the blush. The back lid has no window and is just plain leather. Both lids close with a magnetic closure which is really nice. The included brush is not of the greatest quality (the bristles, while soft, shed like crazy) but it will get the job done when you have nothing else to use. I prefer to use my own blush brush anyway to achieve a more controlled application. The powder has a really faint scent of something I can't exactly distinguish but it's not a bad scent at all and you can barely detect it once applied on the skin.
The multi-colored palette contains 4 different shades of blushes – light pink, light coral, medium pink, and medium coral. All of them contain just enough shimmer to give skin a nice, natural-looking soft sheen without being too shimmery. The word NUDE WEAR is just a really thin layer of an overspray that will come right off as soon as you first swipe your brush in it. The direction suggests sweeping over entire palette to blend all the colors together for a soft pinky coral flush but if you use a really small brush, you can double the top two shades as a highlighter, too!
The pigmentation is definitely on the sheer side here (well, it is marketed as a “Glowing Nude” blush, so sheer coverage is to be expected I suppose?). On my NC30, it takes a little bit of layering to get a good color payoff but I do not mind doing that at all since I really like the texture of the powder on my skin! The finely-milled powder is super velvety soft and blends really well, albeit a tad bit chalky. It leaves a soft satiny finish on my cheeks with a really gorgeous blushing glow that I absolutely adore. And the best part, it lasts well throughout the day, too, so the longevity is quite impressive for such light-colored blush!
The packaging says this blush uses “Airy formulas, infused with a natural extract that allows skin to breathe“, well I don't know for sure if my skin can breathe or not but what I do know is that the powder does feel airy on my cheeks! So lightweight, so comfortable to wear. There's a lot of things to love about this blush and I'm a little obsessed with it if you can't tell already. :)
I can see Rose being a good option for those who are looking for an easy, goof-poof color to use. I think it pairs well with a natural no-makeup makeup look but of course you can build the intensity to compliment a more dramatic makeup, too, should you desire. However, being a light-colored blush, I'm not sure how well it would show up on darker skin tones (or if it would show up at all) but if you are fair, I think you will really love it. :)
