Ever since I missed out on the Dior Diorskin Nude Rose Powder, I've been looking for something similar. The Nude Rose Powder is still available online on some websites but I'm not willing to pay a crazy-high markup for it. I guess good things come to those who wait because I finally found its variation in the Dior Nude Air collection! This time the powder is called Dior Diorskin Nude Air Healthy Glow Invisible Loose Powder and the color name is 012 Rose/Pink!
Before we begin, I'd like to mention that you can find Dior Diorskin Nude Air Healthy Glow Invisible Loose Powder in the US market but only in shade 010 Ivory, 020 Light Beige, 030 Medium Beige, and 040 Honey Beige. For some reason, the shade I'm reviewing today — 012 Rose/Pink — isn't listed anywhere so I'm not sure if this particular shade is continent-specific. Please share if you have more information on this! :)
The powder is housed in a gorgeous, double-walled, clear plastic tub with a shiny silver lid completed with Dior's signature Cannage pattern. I have to say it is the most luxurious-looking loose powder jar in my collection and I love having it on my vanity! :)
It comes with a white puff that feels fairly soft on the skin. There is the word NUDE engraved on the sifter surface which adds an extra nice touch to the overall design.
012 Rose/Pink is a pink powder with plenty of ultra fine silver shimmer. In the tub, you can barely detect the sparkly particles but once blended on the skin, they become more noticeable. You still can't tell from afar that you're wearing a shimmery powder unless you look for it at a really close range. The subtle shimmer helps brighten the complexion by reflecting lights and thus, creating an illusion of radiant skin with a naturally healthy glow. The powder also smells like delicate roses; a very mild scent, though, and you might not even notice it at all during application.
For skincare benefits, the formula contains sweet orange extract, vitamins, and minerals to smooth and tone your complexion. The powder supposedly creates an invisible, breathable shield on the skin's surface to “fight against pollution and limit the absorption of toxins”. Sounds pretty good but I'm not entirely sold on it since I only apply a light dusting of it as a finishing step!
As for the powder itself, it's quite pink! But on the actual skin, it doesn't come off as pink at all. There's not a trace of pink I can detect on my yellow-toned skin. It doesn't turn ashy, cakey, or add any real color so it is safe to say that it goes on almost transparent and will not alter the color of your foundation or your natural skin tone.
It's extremely finely-milled so be prepared for a bit of powder cloud during application! I like how it mattifies the skin instantly without adding a dry or powdery look. It truly feels airy while adding dimension to the skin in a way that most loose powders cannot compete. Yes, a loose powder without a flat, dull matte finish does exist! :)
In terms of coverage, well, it's a loose setting powder so it is very sheer. It isn't capable of camouflaging skin's imperfections or controlling oil production. It won't add or detract your foundation's coverage but it will help it stay on longer. When used in combination with the Dior Diorskin Nude Air Serum Foundation (review), I find my skin to look even better — smoother, more even-toned, and almost airbrushed with a little bit of brightening and glowing effect! :)
My heavy arm swatch above doesn't do the powder it justice because it didn't capture the delicate sparkly particles. If you have a Dior counter nearby that carries this shade, I highly, highly recommend you check it out in person. I fell in love with it the moment I saw my skin sparkling and reflecting light in the most sophisticated way. Truly a wonderful product to have for that special night where you want your skin to look exceptionally healthy, glowy, and glamourous! :)
