I love going to Bed Bath & Beyond as they seem to have all kinds of new stuff before everyone else. This time is no exception! I found this new product from L’Oréal on the display and you know how I love my Garnier Skin Renew Anti-Dark-Circle Roller so much and this one just looks very similar so I had to buy it to compare!

L’Oréal Visible Lift CC Eye Concealer is housed in a long tube with blue cap. The color of the tube reflects the shade of the concealer inside. It comes in 3 shades: Fair, Light, and Medium. I picked up Light as Fair looks too light and too pink and Medium too dark. The applicator is a basic metal ball roller that adds cooling sensation (I love!) when you roll it on the skin under the eye area. It glides on easily without tugging and the product is fragrance-free.

The first thing I wanted to mention is the color match. Light is still a tad bit too light and too pink for my skin tone (NC30 with yellow undertone) so applying it alone on bare skin does look stark on me. I typically follow with a BB cream/foundation to neutralize the color. When I used it for the first time and seeing the color having a yellow tint, I thought for sure that it's going to match me perfectly but unfortunately, once it's blended, it leaves this sort of light pink tint to the skin instead. Not a big fan but as I said, following with my usual foundation easily resolves the color issue.

The formula is very close to Garnier's. Thin, light, and hydrating. I use a gentle tapping motion with my ring finger to help the product blend as opposed to rubbing since I find that rubbing tends to make the product look cakey and fall into fine lines. Compared to the Garnier's, L’Oréal's is slightly more opaque, takes a little bit more tapping to blend out, and leaves a more matte finish.

I am reviewing this on the basis that I do not have serious under eye circles. I'm only using this product more as a highlighter than a concealer to “brighten up” the under eye area and to make me look more awake which it certainly does, and does well. The coverage is quite sheer which is good enough for me, however, for people who suffer from severe dark circles, I don't think you can solely rely on this product alone.

I find the longevity excellent! It doesn't leave my skin dry and flakey, nor does it crease or become cakey after the usual 9-hour work day (in combination with foundation).

If light coverage and slightly brightened under eye area is what you're looking to achieve, I think this is a good product to try. And if you have pink under tone too, I think this will be a good fit. I don't have any serious darkness to conceal but if you do, it may work great in combination with your regular concealer. With that said, I do have fine lines and wrinkles under my eyes and I'm happy to find out that it doesn't emphasize them (when you apply sparingly and blend well). I also think that the skin needs to be well-moisturized before you put this on to help it blend better. If applied on completely dry skin, I have a feeling it will accentuate dry patches and may tug.

Comparison to Garnier's

If I had to pick one, it would still have to be Garnier's. Only because the color matches me better and I can use it without having to top with foundation. :)

How does its longevity compare to Garnier’s? I ask because the Garnier one creases on me.

It’s very comparable to Garnier’s. Lasts all day on me without creasing. :)
