ABOUT MAKEUP MINI SERIES
Makeup Minis is where I feature deluxe samples I received with my online and/or in-store purchases. I'll give you a short description of the product, my initial impression and whether I plan to purchase a full-sized version. I am only listing 3 items per volume to keep the post short and fun! :)

Laura Mercier Flawless Skin Face Polish

Laura Mercier
Flawless Skin Face Polish

I lost count how many tubes I have repurchased! Most scrubs are either too gentle or too harsh that they leave my skin feeling raw but this one is not at all. The ultra fine granules have the perfect balance of being rough and gentle. It is rough enough to scrub away dead skin cells with ease but it won't strip your skin. My face always feels soft and supple after use.

It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream with SPF 50+

It Cosmetics
CC Cream with SPF 50+

I have the “Medium” shade which matches my skin (NC30) quite nicely. The formula is slightly thicker than most CC creams I've tried but is still easily spreadable. It has a medium-to-full coverage that covers dark spots and acne marks very well. I also like the dewy finish and the fact that it is a physical sunscreen with high SPF (50+) and anti-aging benefits.

Bobbi Brown Bare Sparkle High Shimmer Lip Gloss

Bobbi Brown
“Bare Sparkle” High Shimmer Lip Gloss

Just as the name suggests, this lip gloss has lots and lots of shimmer in it. If you like super sparkly lips, you'll appreciate it. Bare Sparkle goes on pretty much clear on me and leaves a high-shine finish that lasts about 3-4 hours. It has a menthol scent and applies with a slight cooling sensation. The formula is slightly tacky and heavy but not uncomfortable.

Full-sized purchase? Unlikely

I’ve tried one of those Bobbi Brown glosses or two, but you know me, I’m not big on glosses in general (unless they pack some real pigment). People who like sparkling glosses will probably be really taken with this one though :)

  • Liz says:

Yeah, not a fan of the BB glosses. I don’t think that I’ve ever bought one and I found the ones in lip palettes to be quite sticky. I only used them to keep from picking at my dry lips in winter.

I didn’t like the It CC because the shades ran so dark and sometimes they left streak marks even though I blend and tap the day away. I passed my tube onto a friend.

Glad I’m not the only one who thinks that BB lip glosses are sticky! Like you, I do like to use them on cold days to keep my lips moisturized and to withstand the wintery winds!

Did you try applying the CC cream with a sponge? I wonder if it would give a smoother finish! :)

  • Monique says:

I first tried the Laura Mercier Flawless Skin Face Polish in a sample size as well. and its really great. I just haven’t purchased full size yet because I have more than enough samples of it. :-)
I really like this series, because lets face it there nothing like trying something before you buy it.

    • Jaa says:

True! Even the sample size still lasts a reeeally long time since we only use a tiny bit each time. :D I’m glad you liked the series! It’s actually an excuse for me to take more product photos, lol though it’s fun to write short reviews about them as well. Thanks for stopping by, Mo! <3

  • Sylirael says:

That Laura Mercier face polish sounds glorious! :-D I’m all about the gentle-but-effective exfoliants, as my dry skin needs ‘polishing’ LOL, but my eczema doesn’t like harsh ones at all. My face is fussy like that, but I guess that’s all it’s really fussy about, so I should be thankful!

    • Jaa says:

My acne-prone skin doesn’t like anything too harsh, either! I’m so glad I found this product! It just works brilliantly for me! :D

  • That laura mercier one sounds ahhmazing
