Makeup Minis is where I feature deluxe samples I received with my online and/or in-store purchases. I'll give you a short description of the product, my initial impression and whether I plan to purchase a full-sized version. I am only listing 3 items per volume to keep the post short and fun! :)

First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Pads

First Aid Beauty
Facial Radiance Pads

It's hard to believe but I've seen results just after a few uses! These pads contain lactic and glycolic acids to exfoliate the skin for a brighter and smoother complexion. I cut each pad in half and use twice a day A.M. and P.M. after I clean my face (I feel that a whole pad is too much and leaves my face too wet). I noticed that my skin has been getting fewer and fewer breakouts and when I do get them, they are not as severe as before and seem to go away quickly. I love it! One thing, though, I wish these smelled a little better!

Benefit Cosmetics Watt's Up!

Watt's Up!

I actually have a full-size stick of this and it's one of my favorite highlighters to date! So easy to use, just twist it up, apply where I need and blend out gently. It has a cream-to-powder formula and applies a beautiful shimmery pale champagne on the skin. The texture is very smooth and creamy and unlike many reviews, I actually do find that it blends easily! With just a few swipes with my ring finger, I can blend it out to a super natural finish with little to no effort. The after-effect is really flattering on my skin. :)

Etude House Baking Powder Cleansing Foam Moist

Etude House
Baking Powder Cleansing Foam Moist

This cleanser is formulated with Baking Powder to “penetrate and cleanse deep within pores”, however, I can't say I have seen promising results after almost 3 weeks of use (I only use it once a day in the morning). It has a thick and creamy formula that lathers well. My skins does feel extremely clean afterwards albeit the slight stripping sensation. It has a nice, refreshing citrus scent that is not overpowering. It is a decent cleanser but I just haven't noticed any improvements on the look of my pores or blackheads at all.

  • Erin says:

Maybe I should try the facial pads. I’m looking for something good! Do you know the acid strengths?

    • Jaa says:

Hey Erin! It is not disclosed on the packaging but on Sephora product page someone mentioned “a proprietary blend of glycolic and lactic acids equal 5%”. Hope this helps!

  • Krithi says:

U sold that benefit whatsup to me
    I so want it :))

  • Sunny says:

Oh now I’m intrigued by those pads! I’ve tried something like that in the past, and I liked how clean it left my skin! I wonder if I’d still like them nowadays or find them too abrasive/drying. I’m guessing there is alcohol in the solution?

  • Those pads sound a lot like Rodial’s exfoliating pads. But cheaper. Nice!

  • Ok, with that review, I’ve GOT to try the First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Pads!! YES!

  • Hi Jaa,
I love this series, such a good idea to try out the minis and write about them.
I have accumulated to many of these over the years and they will just go bad. Maybe I should join you in this.

I am very much intrigued by First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Pads, have to check them out!

    • Jaa says:

Thanks, Sara! I love my Minis series! It is fun and doesn’t take much time to write. Plus I get to use all these samples that otherwise would be thrown out. :D The FAB pads are really nice. I do plan to repurchase again and again. :)

  • Fiona says:

Oh I would love to try the FAB radiance pads.

    • Jaa says:

They are awesome, Fiona! I wish everyone would give them a try! I have definitely seen improvements on my skin! :)

  • Sylirael says:

Ahh, those facial radiance pad things sound amazing! Someday I would like to try the gentle chemical exfoliants, but I haven’t found something at quite the right price point or that I think will be safe/effective yet here…

    • Jaa says:

There are just so many options out there! I’m a bit overwhelmed myself. :-/ Guess I’ll keep using these FAB pads for now. :)
