Flush is still my most favorite Tom Ford blush but I understand that it can be a little too intimidating for most people. Love Lust, on the other hand, is more of a classic peachy color that is much more neutral and wearable. It's one of those “staple” shades that you can grab, apply, and go. No skills or extra effort needed! :)

Similar to other Tom Ford blushes, Love Lust also comes protected in a brown protective pouch. There is no applicator included but it has a good-sized mirror inside the magnetic compact. I can't get enough of the gold bar with Tom Ford engraved on it, such a luxurious touch. :)

01 Love Lust is a light peachy coral shade. It is packed with lots and lots of gold and coral shimmer that may look a little too sparkly on the hand swatch, but the magic really happens when you apply it on the cheeks! Don't think of it as a blush with shimmer, because Love Lust is more like a blush with a highlighting quality.

You will see what I'm talking about when you scroll down to the last photo below. In that photo, it will look like I'm wearing a separate highlighter on top of Love Lust but it's actually Love Lust alone! :) In the shadow (towards the side of the cheek), the pigment is more pronounced, but on the area where lights hit, only the shimmer is noticeable.

And what's lovely about it is, the shimmery sheen does not appear as a typical glitter-in-your-face kind of sheen, but more of a soft and luminous glow that you can only experience with the finest, and highest quality shimmer. It is true when they say Tom Ford knows how to make “adult” shimmer. :)

The level of pigmentation I have to say is on the sheer side (at least on my medium NC30 skin). I feel that I have to use a blush brush with moderately dense bristles to pick up the product. It takes roughly a few layers for it to really show up on me because the pigment seems to sheer out a bit once applied on the skin. It is buildable, though, and very, very blendable. In fact, it seems as if it can blend itself free of any hard edges!

In terms of texture, it is ultra luxurious silky smooth! The powder is so soft and melds into the skin flawlessly. It is finely-milled and easily gets kicked up by a brush but the application is not at all powdery. The wear time is exceptional up to 7-8 hours depending on the amount applied. It may fade slightly faster on oily skin but on my combination skin, I can go on a typical work day without the need to reapply.

Love Lust may not be the most unique color but I think everyone can agree that it is one of those safe and classic shades that anyone with any skin tone can wear. If you like a soft coral for everyday cheek color, this is for you (although it can be built up for a more dramatic look, too!). If you like a 2-in-1 blusher and highlighter product, this is also for you. If you are looking to splurge on your first Tom Ford blush, Love Lust is definitely the one I highly recommend. :)

I really like this look! The lip color also looks great! Looking better everyday~~

  • Sunny says:

Oh Jaa, stop temping me with this!!! I only own one so far, and I’m really glad I have no access to the blushes here (only the lipsticks and nail polishes are available in Belgium), because otherwise I would have gone BROKE a long time ago! Love how Love Lust looks on you! Also, what’s on your eyes and lips? ;)

    • Jaa says:

Haha, sorry! But you tempt us all the time with so many gorgeous products on your blog, it’s only fair, right?!! :D

You have Savage, correct? Or Ravish? Both of which are on my wish list!

And that’s Laura Mercier Amethyst and Urban Decay Rockstar on my eyes. :D

      • Sunny says:

Hey Jaa, I have Ravish! It’s SUCH a great shade for autumn! Since instead of winter we had a prolonged autumn last year, I wore it often.

Oh GREAT pairing! I have both but don’t think I’ve worn them together. Must try :)

  • Sylirael says:

WHOA….. The finished photo is stunning! It looks absolutely flawless, so pretty and natural… *stares*

I love also how the shimmer is, as you say, ‘adult’ shimmer ;-) so elegant. I always hear Christine rave about this blush, but your post has reinforced my desire to be able to swatch this one day ;-)

    • Jaa says:

Thank you, Syl! Yes, adult shimmer. Haha. I couldn’t think of a better word as my vocabulary is very limited, lol! Maybe you can help me explain it better! :D

You’re right! Love Lust is one of Christine’s favorite blushes! I hope you get to swatch it (and own it) one day soon!

      • Sylirael says:

Hehe, we’ll see. I always think the reason none of TF’s stuff is available here is cos the NZ prices would mean you’d have to take out a mortgage to get anything, LOL!

        • Grace says:

          Hi silyrael,
I know what you mean by you need to take a mortgage to buy make up. I live in Australia, make up is very expensive here too especially compared to the US.

  • Erin says:

I really like this one, it almost feels like a more sophisticated version of NARS Orgasm!

    • Jaa says:

That was my first thought, too! Orgasm is noticeably more pink than Love Lust, though. And the shimmer in Orgasm feels gritty in comparison. But if you mix Luster and Orgasm together, you’ll get something that’s really close to Love Lust!

  • popsicle13 says:

Oh my dear , It look gorgeous i love the word “Adult shimmer” ! . The hilight property just on the point i totally agree with that . and Tom Ford compact does feel very luxury .

Last times i went to try the Shade and Illuminate but it feels weird and i assume that it is not going to work in Thailand hot and humid weather . Because It’s like emolient blam with color in it and it’s like super sheen and glittery .

    • Jaa says:

Totally not made for Thai weather! Well, unless you are a hi-so and travel in your own car and work in an air-conditioned office! ;)

  • Nikki says:

Lusting over this shade and still on my to-buy-someday list. :)

    • Jaa says:

It also took me a while before I made my purchase! Hopefully you will get to try it soon! :)

Thanks for stopping by, Dr Nikki! ;D

  • Grace says:

Thanks for the review Jaa. Christine from temptalia raved about it before too. It is definitely on my wish list. There are so many good blushes on the market. I recently got a couple stila covetable colors. I really like lilium. I would like to try the Clinique new blushes too. What to do? I don’t know which one to get first?

    • Jaa says:

Lilium is a beautiful color! Looks so natural, too. And are you talking about Clinique Cheek Pop right? I’ve been going back and forth with it, too, haha! I don’t know if I should try it. And if I do, what color do I get? Probably either Berry Pop or Plum Pop!

I don’t mean to overwhelm you even more but what about Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush? I’ve been testing the 2 new shades that I just bought: Dim Infusion and Diffused Heat, and OMG, they are GORGEOUS! :)

Or you could just get Love Lust and cross it off your wish list. If I didn’t have any of these blushes already, and felt like treating myself to something nice, I’d probably go with Love Lust. But if you want more selection, for the same price you could get 2 Clinique blushes. Guess you will have to ask yourself what you would be most happy with at the end. :D

Well, guess I didn’t help much, haha!

      • Grace says:

I may buy Tom Ford first:) I am actually not sure about the hourglass blushes. I went to the shop tried a few colours but it just looked ok on my cheek. Maybe I need to play around with it to get it right but it wasn’t love at first sight like the ambient powders.

  • Eesha says:

So, pretty…. loved it so much. Looks so so good on you :-)
