Review & Usage

I know what you're thinking! Is that a napkin ring?! Well, at least that's what my significant other said when he first saw this Beautyblender “bling.ring“. -__-”

The kit includes

1x Beautyblender original makeup sponge + 1x sparkling display ring

While this may seem like a silly purchase to some, I have to say I'm pretty happy with my decision! Sure, you can probably create something similar for much cheaper using materials from an art store but being crafty isn't really my thing. I don't have a napkin ring in my house, either, but if you do, then by all means!

My logic for buying this fancy kit is pretty simple actually: I needed to replace my Beautyblender, which alone already costs US$20, and for another US$10 I can get a customized holder to hold it? I thought hmm, why not! I had been searching for a way to “rest” my Beautyblender when it's not being used or when it's drying and this little tool seems like a perfect solution!

Nope, I'm not too crazy with the childish-looking, blinged out jewels plastered across it and I wish the brand would have come up with something a little more decent but if you can look past it, this thing is highly practical. It is the perfect size for the Beautyblender to rest on. It is ring-shaped and thus airs dry your Beautyblender evenly from top to bottom. There is no excess moisture trapped inside like when you dry it in its plastic container, which is bulky and takes up more space. It's also probably more sanitary than drying it on a piece of tissue. Your Beautyblender, wet or dry, gets to stay upright and in its rightful place, never rolling off your vanity again. The material is made of plastic so that it's lightweight and rust-free. Honestly I am surprisingly very happy with the convenience and practicality of it but yes, a little more mature design wouldn't hurt! :)

As for the Beautyblender itself (US$20; Sephora), there's not much to say except it is my staple makeup applicator! It makes my foundation and concealer application so flawless and mess-free, plus it is super easy to clean (I love cleaning it with a Beautyblender Blendercleanser Solid or a Sephora Dry Clean: Solid Brush Cleaner). And if you don't know, it has a little sister that is much smaller in size called Micro.Mini which is designed to use in tight spaces on the face (I like to use it to blend my under eye concealer!).

I always wondered how people “stored” their beauty blender. I’ve been using an egg cup :) I have a few of them and don’t actually use them when I have eggs so it’s perfect!

I LOVE my Beauty Blender. I adore it! It works great with my foundation and concealer and I always get the best application and finish out of it. Always have a spare one laying around. The little bling ring looks amazing with it!

Ha, it’s cute but I wouldn’t pay $10 extra for it. I never thought of using a napkin ring to hold my beauty blender. I usually just haphazardly place it in my brush cup.

It looks great, Jaa. I store my Beauty Blender in the drawer to avoid dust, so while this is pretty, it won’t do much for me. If there’s a gorgeous brush holder though, I’d probably splurge :-)

I prefer storing my brushes in plain glass cups and keep them in a cabinet to avoid dust. We are opposites! ;D For some reason it bothers me that I can’t see the whole length of the brush handles if they are stored in an opaque brush holder or even colored glass. It has to be clear and non-texturized glass only. Is there something wrong with me??!! LOL!

Jaa, you just gave me the wonderful idea to see if a Napkin Ring would really work. Lol. I agree, I think something like this is very practical and I’d probably own it too, if not for the design. No judgements. :-) x

Haha I bet it works just as well, Kimmy! Yeah, they could do much better on the design. Hopefully there will be more (cooler) selections coming out soon.

Hihi. I saw this at Nordstrom and I was thinking to buy it because it was on-SALE! It’s also a nice gift to your girlfriends! haha!
