Benefit is discontinuing their Full-Finish Lipsticks which is a shame since I really love the formula so when I saw this trio set priced at $18 ($6 each) during Ulta's Black Friday Sale I had to snag one up. The set is no longer available but the lipstick can be purchased individually at $10 each (regular price $18) on Benefit website. So, if you are a fan of this lipstick formula, too, now is the time to stock up!
There are 3 shades included in this set:
- Lady's Choice – nude pink
- Fame Game – pearly nude
- La La Land – mauve pink
Each lipstick is full-sized, scent-free, and comes in a black shiny bullet case with detailed swirls and Benefit logo in white. Inside of each cardboard box is a small card with a picture of the Benefit girl (Lana or Gabbi) that has a quote on the other side that reads:
“How do I love lipstick? Let me count the ways…” -Lana
“If at first you don't succeed… apply more lipstick!” -Gabbi
So true. I may have giggled just a little bit. ;)
Lady's Choice is one of my go-to nude lipsticks and I'm glad to pick up another one from this set. It's one of the rare nudes that doesn't wash me out or makes me look sick. It compliments a heavy eye look really nicely and also pairs well with a minimal makeup.
Fame Game has a pearly finish that I don't care for too much but boy, does it make my lips look so much fuller! I don't like shimmery/frosty finish lipsticks in general so I'm only applying this color in the center of my lips on top of my other lipstick for the extra fuller, plumper lip look.
La La Land leans a little heavy on the mauve than pink and it's a shade or two darker than what would be my MLBB shade. I'm still on the fence whether I like this shade or not as mauve isn't one of the colors I prefer on my lips.
These lipsticks have medium to full coverage with a buttery smooth and lightweight feel. The saturated color glides on the lips with ease and leaves small subtle shine that's not too glossy. Lady's Choice has a little bit more slip and seems to settle into lip lines more than Fame Game while La La Land does not at all. Of the three, La La Land leaves the smoothest finish and goes on the most evenly which is to be expected from darker shades. All of them are neither drying nor moisturizing and I didn't experience any dryness during wear with any of the color and yes, even with the pearly Fame Game. They last about 4-5 hours on me and from there start to fade evenly.
As I said, if you are a fan of these lipsticks, now is the time to get a backup! My recommendation would be Lady's Choice as it is such a lovely nude color that I think would flatter most skin tones. Benefit is replacing these with a new Hydra-Smooth Lip Color formula which I have yet to try. The packaging looks uber cute, though, so I might have to get my hands on those soon!
