You can always count on Benefit for the cutest and most eye-catching packaging! :) Majorette is no exception. The cream blush is housed in a round cardboard packaging that reminds me of a marching bass drum! :D The scallop-edged top and bottom lids separate in the middle and the whole unit closes through a magnetic closure. There is a full-sized mirror on the underside of the top lid. The blush itself is dome-shaped and has a sunburst design on top of the dome. The design is not permanent, though, and will disappear as soon as you swipe your fingers across the blush. A clear plastic removable cover is also included (how very thoughtful!) to protect the blush from damage and/or drying out.

Majorette has a lovely fruity smell that Benefit describes as a “pom-pom peach & pomegranate” scent. :D The fragrance is quite strong but it dissipates very quickly. The compact also comes with a small Tips & Tricks folded leaflet with instructions on how to use the blush to achieve its maximum boosting effect!

Majorette is a peachy coral blush with a cream-to-powder formula. The cream texture is on the dry side (think Chanel Le Blush Crème de Chanel, not Stila Convertible Colors) but it feels really smooth and velvety on the skin. The consistency is really light and may I say cheerful; it's not thick, heavy, or tacky in any way. Once applied on the skin, the formula transforms to a silky powdery matte finish that provides a nice flush of color and a hint of healthy radiance.

The peachy coral color compliments my skin tone really well. It brightens up my whole face nicely especially when applied closer to the center of the face. It is not super pigmented (though it may look glaringly bright in the pan) which only makes it even more versatile to use. You can wear it sheer for a soft flush of color or layer for more oomph!

Benefit suggests using your fingertips to apply for best result and I agree! You can definitely use a makeup brush but I personally just use my fingers for a quick and easy swipe-and-go application. The great thing about Majorette is it does not require effort to diffuse hard edges! The texture is so blendable that it literally takes only seconds to apply and blend out! In my portrait photo below, it only took me 5 seconds to do each cheek! :)

Majorette can be worn so many ways: on bare skin, over foundation, or over powder. I personally like to apply it as a final step over powder for the softest, most diffused result. One thing worth noting is it tends to catch and cling to dry spots, so make sure your skin is well moisturized before application!

Majorette can be used as a booster to “boost” the intensity of your favorite powder blush, too! I have swatches below to show you how each Benefit Box o' Powder Blush looks alone and when layered over Majorette. The undertone color of the blush may shift slightly due to the warm orange hue of Majorette but otherwise the intensity is significantly increased. When worn layered, the blush wear time is also extended by several more hours. Majorette alone wears approximately 5-6 hours on me (over setting powder) with very minimal fading at the end of the day.

I absolutely adore and highly recommend Majorette! :) It is one of the best cream blushes I have in my collection. Superior texture and performance with excellent blendability and wear time, I have nothing but major love for it. :)

Have you tried Majorette? What's your favorite cream blush formula?

  • I’ve read few reviews of Majorette and they’re all positive. I am getting this soon! I think Benefits loves fingertips. lol. And…. I love your lashes here!!! It adds beauty!

  • I’ve never been a fan of Benefit. I think it’s one of those chemistry thing, whether you have it or you don’t. Somehow or rather, most (not all) of their things just go past me unnoticed. This one looks very adorable though I surely don’t need yet another blush. Oh, btw, appreciate those awesome swatches at the end. You’re so hardworking!

    • I understand! I know a few bloggers who never seem to be interested with Benefit makeup. Me, on the other hand, are cray cray about their products! ^_^ Actually, I should say I’m cray crazy about their packaging. LOL. Got me every time! I’m especially super excited about Majorette and glad that it lives up to my expectations! :)

Thanks, Lily! It didn’t take me long at all to do those swatches. :D

  • Oh that shade IS pretty!!!! I don’t have the best experience with Benefit products in general, but now I am tempted! Are you wearing tinted contact lenses here? ;)

Thanks for the review and all the layering swatches! My favorite cream blush formula is Chanel Le Blush Creme de Chanel. It’s SO pigmented and it just wears and wears! Nothing to dislike about that!

    • Chanel – true to that!!! I only have a couple of them. Need to expand my collection!

Yes, I am wearing colored contacts in my photo. ^_^ You are very observant! ;D

  • OK, this is really, really pretty. Now I have to convince myself that Peach Pop is sufficient for me in the peach blush department…

    …Is it working yet? :-P

Thank you so much for all the blush swatches too! I only have Dandelion (out of a set), which I never use. Now I feel like I should try mixing some with other things…it’s Jaaspiration!

OK, I meant that to be a cute play on ‘inspiration’, but maybe I should go with ‘Jinspiration’, because Jaaspiration is kind of sounds more like I’m going to go and try to suck the blush up into my lungs…

    • Haha don’t even try, Syl! You won’t last long. Soon you’ll cave!! Hahahahaha!

Dandelion is such a pretty color but it’s way too pale for me to wear on its own. Now I can layer it over Majorette for a better color payoff! :D

Actually I don’t like either Jaaspiration or Jinspiration! LOL! Sounds weird, both of them. But if I had to choose, let’s do the former. At least it has my full name in it! LOL! ;D

  • This is so pretty on you! I’m not a huge fan of cream blush though and if this tends to cling to drier patches, it may not be for me. But I do love the design and packaging of this blush. Too cute!

  • Waaaah, it looks SO darn pretty :-D And I bet I’d love to smell too. And the color, well, that one’s a no-brainer, it’s so up my alley that it’s scaring away all the bums and drug dealers that hang there.

  • I really like this one! I think it might be a tad warm for me but it looks so good on you. I’ll have to swatch on my next Sephora trip!

  • So SO cute! Benefit always ticks all the cute boxes, that’s for sure. I love how this looks on it’s own and am pretty amazed by it’s boosting abilities! Awesome! This color looks perfect on you!

  • Oh this looks really pretty on you! This and Bitch perfect lipstick would go together so well! Might have to get this one now! Oops! :-)

  • Wait a minute… are you missing Dallas or did you leave it out because there wasn’t room in that amazing blush collage? You have the best pictures. I got rid of all my Benefit box o’ blushes but that made me want them all back, lol. (I used to have Dandelion, Coralista, Dallas and Bella Bamba.) Anyway, this new one seems nice but it was impossible to tell from just pictures what the texture was. I think your swatches say it all!

    • Thanks, Liz! Haha I knew someone was going to ask about Dallas. Thing is… I don’t have Dallas!!! *horror* I know I know.. I should probably pick it up soon. ^_^ Why did you get rid of your Box o’ Powder blushes??

      • I think that I just got bored with them, especially after I fell in love with bolder colours. Benefit also changed their packaging and my OCD couldn’t take it, lol.

            • Actually, it seems to me that you have the “older” boxes? (Georgia Peach never made it as a new box.) The lids are different as well. New lids are hinged now, I think.

            • Ahh gotcha! I have both old and new packaging then! :) Because some are shiny, some are matte, some are hinged, some are err.. non-hinged. :D

  • Throbb over Majorette looks a bit like NARS Orgasm! Or is that just me? Lol. Majorette is definitely something to consider for my next makeup haul!

    • Pretty close! Orgasm is probably a tad bit more peachy! :) Let me know if you decide to buy Majorette! Would like to hear your thoughts. :D

  • I can’t say that I am a big fan of the packaging.. it’s a lot of fuzz… but luckily it’s the content that really matters in the end and the content.. the color of the blush is absolutely ah-maaaay-zing. I need to check this blush out in the stores.. Oh no. Now I have two blushes by Benefit I want to test… whilst not using blushes very often. What are you doing to me, Jaa?!
