Hi everyone! I know I have been MIA in terms of posting but I have my good reasons! Things are going to change again in the next few months; and I'm talking big changes. I can't give you details yet but I will when I'm ready. I will write up another post for that but today let's deal with the task at hand first. I'm going to tell you everything you need to know about this fantastic piece of makeup that helps keep my eyebrow game strong!
If you remember this post back in 2015 about my first Thailand makeup haul, you know I purchased this Burberry Effortless Eyebrow Definer along with other goodies from the brand. My color is No. 05 Ebony which is a cool-toned, gray-tinged black perfectly suited to my black hair. Don't be alarmed when you go swatch this on the back of your hand in person because it swatches poorly for some reason! But as soon as you apply it on the actual brows, you'll be amazed because it's actually incredibly pigmented. Remember to use light strokes with it!
The packaging is of high quality (can't expect any less from Burberry); a nice metallic casing that isn't too heavy or too light. All around very easy to hold and control. The twistable function ensures that you don't ever need to sharpen it but I'll say that the sharply defined slanted tip doesn't stay sharp very long. It gets more rounded with continued use. It's not really too much of a hassle for me because I usually use a pointy Q-tip to shapen the look of my brows as a precision-enhancing finishing step. I suppose it has something to do with the powder texture which tends to become dull more easily than the wax counterpart.
So we have a nice eyebrow pencil on one end, and a super fluffy spoolie on the other! The fibers are so dense and truly fluff up my brow hairs. I use it in the beginning to tame my unruly hairs then during and after the filling to distribute the pigment so my brows look nice, full, and free of harsh lines.
Here's a swatch on my arm. You can see how it barely shows up on my skin! I had to really build it up to get the true color visible.
And here's me wearing the Burberry Effortless Eyebrow Definer in No. 05 Ebony:
The nice thing about No. 05 Ebony is that I can wear it lightly for a soft look during the day and build it up for more drama at night (or when needed).
I have ridiculously sparse brows so anything that gives me such a fantastic illusion of fuller brows gets a huge thumbs up from me! And for longevity? It lasts through normal working days just fine!
Easy to use, buildable pigment, perfect color; I can't find anything negative to write about the Burberry Effortless Eyebrow Definer. Maybe the steep price? But I'm so picky about my brows so I'm willing to pay as long as the product delivers. :)
