December 2014 Favorites

Last two days of 2014! This year really flew by right before my eyes! I felt like I was just doing my 2013 MAC Lipstick Collection not long ago but it has been one year already! I normally do a Favorite post on the last day of the month but this month I'm pushing it one day forward because I'll have another round-up post to share with you tomorrow. :D

Charlotte Tilbury Fallen Angel Luxury Palette

Fallen Angel is my favorite eyeshadow quad of the month! I am really in love with everything about it — the beautiful packaging (look at all the stars!), the wearable neutral colors (I can never have enough of neutrals, let alone ones with metallic finish!), and best of all, the wet/dry formula! I hope the brand releases more palettes with this amazing formula again in the future. :) I have a full review including swatches and FOTD of this quad on this page.

First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Pads

I know I've been talking a lot about this product this past month but it really is something I can't recommend enough. These pads are supposed to exfoliate, tone, and brighten the skin with lactic and glycolic acids. While I have not seen any major improvements in skin brightening, I can honestly say that I witnessed reduction in the occurrence of breakouts on my face. I've been getting them less and less and when I do, they don't become huge and painful and seem to disappear more quickly than before. For a mini review, click here.

Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Fantastic

Fantastic is a bright barbie doll pink with a matte finish. I didn't care for this color at all when I first laid my hands on it but this month I thought I'd give it a second try. Lo and behold, I am really liking it so much better this time around! Not sure what changes but lately I've been into all kinds of bright pink blushes! Fantastic is very pigmented and you'll need a super light hand to apply to a natural finish. More review and swatch comparison to other Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blushes can be found here.

Smashbox Be Legendary Long-Wear Lip Lacquer in Coral

My latest obsession of the lipstick/lip gloss/lip stain hybrid lip color of the month! Coral is a nice, everyday coral color that isn't too bright or too shimmery. The formula is very comfortable to wear and lasts a really long time. I also appreciate that my lips don't become dry once the glassy sheen wears off and only the coral stain remains. To see how it looks on me, check out my review here.

Tom Ford Lips & Boys Lip Color in Pablo

Tom Ford Lips & Boys Collection has been all over the internet for the last couple months. The collection has just become available again 4 days ago and not surprisingly, a lot of shades are sold out already. Pablo is among the many colors I purchased and so far still remains one of my most favorites. To me, it is a unique shade of magenta pink with a strong hint of purple. The formula is nice and lightweight and all around very comfortable to wear. It applies opaque and leaves a long-lasting stain that doesn't dry out lips. For my complete review of the collection Part I, please refer to this page.

Are you ready to count down to 2015? I know I am. I can't wait to see what the future will bring! :) And oh, before you leave, don't forget to enter my L'Occitane L'OcciBox giveaway! See you back here tomorrow, hopefully? :D

  • Hey Jaa, this batch of favorites doesn’t surprise me at all! I’m dying to try the First Aid pads, I’m in love with my boys, and I am seriously tempted by Fallen Angel!

    • “My boys” *giggles* Tom Ford has the most genius marketing team or what? Haha. Girls over the world are all Mah Boisssssss. ;D

  • i keep eyeing that charlotte tilbury palette… but i was able to indulge in the tom ford nude dip palette… what do you think… do i need both? I appreciate your expert opinion!

    • Hey Jacqueline! I just made a swatch comparison for you here: http://instagram.com/p/xU_a9pNjzl :D I also asked my followers to comment on which one they like better. If you ask me, yes, you need both because I can’t choose one over another! :D Nude Dip is lighter and cooler-toned whereas Fallen Angel is much warmer and has a black instead of dark brown as the “definition” shade.

Texture-wise, while both are of excellent quality, I have to say Nude Dip feels smoother and creamier than Fallen Angel. The metallic sheen from Nude Dip is also stronger.

In short, Nude Dip is lighter and cooler-toned. Fallen Angel is darker and warmer-toned (and you can create more dramatic looks with it). So do you need Fallen Angel? YES! LOL.

      Hope this helps! :)

  • Speaking of Tom Ford marketing, I’m sure it’s very Mad Men but with glamazon bitches in chic redone 70’s and 80’s power suits.

I love the idea of the pads, but I skipped over em this time and went straight to the PTR unwrinkle.

  • The Charlotte Tilbury palette is such a beauty! Really wish I could get my hands on it, but unfortunately, it’s unavailable in my country. Anyways, love your December favourites!

    • Thanks, Mabes! I’m sorry to hear that! Where are you from? I hope the brand expands to your country soon! :) If it makes you feel any better, it took them a long time to reach the US!!

  • Soooo envious of all you people and your TF boys ;-) I would love to try one, but perhaps I will just have to stay true to Pussycat, and save up for that, LOL!

Is it possible to exist on lipsticks alone? Because if it is, I would totally do it. I may have a problem. >_<

  • I’m about to bust out the FAB pads tonight! From what the reviews say, including yours, my skin should love it. :) And I was SO CLOSE to ordering that CT palette but ended up getting some brushes instead.

    • Ooooo brushes! I love brushes! Which one did you buy? I hope you like those FAB pads! They are truly my skin-saver! :)

  • Great favorites round-up this month! I just got my Lips & Boys order and I CRACKED UP at how small they are! I had no idea they were so tiny! I think my confusion lied with everyone showing them next to a full-sized TF lipstick for a size comparison. I’ve never had a TF lipstick nor even seen one in real life! Guillermo looks absolutely stunning but I haven’t used it yet b/c I still need to photograph it, lol! Blogger problems. ;)

    • Such a torture, isn’t it? Happens to me all the time. Beautiful products sitting right next to me that I can’t use because I have yet to photograph them! LOL! I bet Guillermo looks fabulous on you, Kristen! I totally see you rocking that lip color! :D
