Too Faced La Crème Color Drenched Lip Cream is seriously one creamy lipstick!
Too Faced released their new lipstick line last Fall called La Crème Color Drenched Lip Cream which includes 20 new colors ranging from nudes, spices, pinks, reds and berries. I picked up Juicy Melons from the pink family and let me tell you, they were not kidding about these lipstick being (Crème de) La Crème!
The lipstick is packaged in a weighty, gold-colored anodized aluminum tube with Too Faced name embossed on the side and TF initials on the cap. The casing material feels smooth to the touch and does not collect any fingerprints (yay!).
Juicy Melons is described as “pink coral” but the actual color leans towards pink just a bit more than coral. It is quite a flattering shade in my opinion which is why so many people raved about it. It's the kind of pink that would brighten up any skin tones without being too pink or too coral. There is a light scent that reminds me of something sweet but I can't pinpoint what it is. It doesn't linger, though. It fades away fairly quick upon application. The lipstick is packed with some really good lip-nourishing ingredients such as white lotus flower extracts and power peptides to keep lips firm, protected, and conditioned (double yay!).
The best part of this lipstick is the formula! It is literally super creamy and the application feels like applying lip butter on your lips. It glides on ridiculously smooth without dragging or tugging whatsoever. But being so creamy (and a little wet) in texture, it may settle into fine lines just a tiny bit, so press your lips together briefly to even out the color. I also feel that it has a lot of slip so I normally just apply one thick coat, blot with a tissue, and then apply another coat, that seems to help the color to stay on my lips better. It has medium to full coverage meaning you will practically get a full opacity with just one quick swipe. The application leaves a soft glossy sheen on the lips that you may want to skip the lip gloss altogether.
I find the staying power to be between a good 3-4 hours, basically by lunch time you will need to re-apply which is typical for most creamy lipsticks. The wear time can be improved by applying over a lip liner or lip primer. The good part of the lipstick having such a moisturizing formula is that once the color wears off, your lips will not feel dry. It actually keeps them feeling hydrated until you take it completely off. It has no staining effect that I noticed and in fact, is quite easy to remove. Another thing is the saturated color seems to transfer just a little bit more than usual so try to avoid drinking directly from a glass! :)
