January 2014 Favorites

Hello Everyone! How was your first month of 2014? Did anything exciting happen? I can't believe it's the end of January already! I feel like I was just out Holiday shopping last week… well, we are just 11 months away from the next Holiday shopping then! :) And here is the usual – my favorite items of the month!

LORAC Pro Eye Shadow Palette

I seriously can never get enough of this palette. I own a lot of eyeshadow palettes and most of them I tend to use only a few times and then forget about it. But this LORAC Pro – I just keep coming back to it! I seriously love every single color in this palette but if I had to choose, my most favorites are: Mauve, Gold, and Pewter. Mauve is a nice purplish pink transition color, Gold is so bright and very… gold!, and Pewter – a purplish taupe – the most beautiful taupe I've ever seen! I also love the fact that there are both matte and shimmer finishes, and with so many colors to choose from, you can never run out of ideas for a makeup look!

Benefit the POREfessional: Agent Zero Shine

I've really been enjoying this loose powder from Benefit! When used in combination with the POREfessional primer, it really makes my skin look nice and smooth and my pores really become much less noticeable. I am truly pleased with the finish of this powder! It doesn't completely keep my face matte the whole day, though, especially on my stubborn T-zone, but I really don't mind blotting. And oh, did I mention the adorable packaging?! :D

NARS Adelaide Illuminator (Final Cut Collection)

Adelaide (limited edition) is my first liquid highlighter from NARS and it is just simply gorgeous. This lavender pink liquid illuminator can be used both as a highlighter and a blush! I feel that's it a perfect pink for me to use on the cheeks. The shimmery bits are really sparkly but once on the skin they provide a gorgeous glow. The pink pigment is just the right amount to give my cheeks a cool-toned flush. Here's to brightening up the whole face and getting a cheek lift in under 5 minutes!

Tom Ford Private Blend Lip Color in Spanish Pink

Such an understatement nude shade! Spanish pink is the perfect combination of pink, beige, and coral that doesn't wash me out and it also pairs well with just about any makeup look I create. It looks great alone for a nude lip look and also compliments any lip gloss I choose to top it with. Very versatile color. And don't get me started on the creamy and long-lasting formula! If you are looking to splurge on a lipstick, there's no other option. This, is the one. :)

Giorgio Armani Lip Maestro Matte Lacquer in 502 Eccentrico

This one is another limited edition item that is still available for purchase! A hot pink liquid lipstick that dries down to a long-lasting semi-matte finish. And when I said hot pink, I mean, a super mega bright hot neon pink! :) Definitely not for the color shy. I do like liquid lipsticks in general as I find them to have a better longevity than regular lipsticks. For Eccentrico, I personally like to wear it with just a black eyeliner and keep the rest of my face simple for daytime looks but it also looks great with a heavy smokey eye, too!

So what do you think of my favorites this month? Are any of the items mentioned your favorites, too? Now that January will be over in less than 2 hours, I can't wait to say hello and welcome February! Are you anxiously awaiting for the big Valentine's day surprises? I know I am! ;D

  • WOW! Where did January go?!? I adore the LORAC Pro. I mean, what a palette! It would be going in my desert island makeup bag, along with my #1 favorite of all-time, Naked 1! You are really piquing my interest in this Porefessional action. Lately i’ve noticed my pores on my cheeks are like HUGEEEEE. Noooo!!!

    • I know! I can’t believe it’s February already and there only 28 days this month so it’ll be going by even faster!!! You really need to slow down, time!!! LOL!

For me, it would be the Lorac Pro and Naked 3!! :D

And I’m really liking the Agent Zero Shine more and more the more I use it. I just have to be careful with the amount I dispense each time. There’s just so little in there and I think at the rate I’m going I’ll probably finish it in a month ha ha.

The PORES! Ugh. I hate them. I don’t even know why they even exist!! Well I know why, I just wish they didn’t! LOL.

  • Hey Jaa, so I gave my sample of Porefessional a go and I find it quite comparable to Bioderma Sebium Pore Refiner! I blot once a day with both products, and both of them “diffuse” the look of sebum so the shine never looks too bad. I’d say you probably won’t have to run out and get a tube of the Bioderma, but if you’re still interested by the time your Porefessional runs out, you should give it a go!

    • Oh Thank you so much, Sunny! I was about to go to your site and ask for the update on this! Ha ha.

I’m actually running low on the POREfessional so I think I’ll give Bioderma a try! :)
