I have another beauty item from Marc Jacobs to share with you today! I've been wanting to try this Lip Vinyl in Heart Shaped for a while and last week during the 20% off VIB sale, I finally went for it! :)
When Marc Jacobs Beauty line launched a few months back I wasn't really sure about the packaging – everything looks kinda …. chunky and… round? But as time went by, it's starting to grow on me and if you ask me now, I think it looks kinda chic and adorable! :) This Lust for Lacquer Lip Vinyl is presented in a clear, rounded bottom plastic tube with Marc Jacobs name printed along the length of the tube in silver, and with a twist-off black cap that once opened reveals a flat yet flexible doe-foot applicator. Very sleek! The lip vinyl has a really sweet strawberry bubblegum scent that is quite strong but does not linger.
308 Heart Shaped is described as a “shimmering baby pink” but I'm seeing more of a corally pink with pink and gold shimmer. I suppose the word “sheer” in the name means sheer coverage since this Lip Vinyl provides just a hint of color especially on my pigmented lips. The formula is quite thick, almost gel-like and spreads easily on the lips with hydrating feel. The finish is shiny and slightly shimmery with zero stickiness (I like!), so despite the thick texture, it's pretty comfortable to wear. It has a strong minty taste with a cooling sensation, too and my lips look full and nicely plump after application.
The shade is lovely for an every day wear and I can see it pairing nicely with nude, pale pink, or light colored lips to add extra shine and shimmer. However, the staying power is really short – I do get about a couple hours of wear before the color starts to fade so definitely bring this baby along to work for touch-ups!
Overall, a lovely pretty shade with a nice texture. While the gloss does wear off rather quickly, my lips continue to feel soft long after. Marc Jacobs Lip Vinyls also come in five other shades that include pinks, lavenders, and reds but next on my list is the Full coverage one in shade Gypsy! I swatched it in store and it looks sort of like burnt coral that's really unique! :)
