Sephora VIB Rouge Welcome Kit 2015

Back in March, I requalified for a Sephora VIB Rouge status! And this year's VIB Rouge Welcome Kit couldn't be sweeter! :D

The VIB Rouge Welcome Kit 2015 features a deluxe sample of Marc Jacobs Le Marc Lip Crème in So Rouge which is a deep, vivid, true red that I think will look fantastic on most skin tones. It has a super creamy texture that completely glides on the lips leaving a fully opaque finish in one pass. It doesn't settle into lip lines, bleed, or feather on me but it does emphasize the texture of my lips just a tiny bit.

The bullet tip was designed in such a way that makes it easy to apply along the edges of the lips without having to use a lip liner (although it would make things a bit more polished if you do use one). In the photo below, I applied So Rouge on my bare lips (without a liner) and you can just see how smooth the finish is! It applies a satin initially but will dry down to a good matte that is fairly moisturizing.

It boasts “10 hours of luxurious wear” but on me, So Rouge doesn't last more than a few hours. It also transfers easily especially in the beginning of wear. At least I'm glad that when it fades, it leaves a bit of a soft red stain so my lips still have some color left. The formula doesn't have any scent or taste and comes in a Sephora-inspired red casing. I believe the VIB Rouge Renewal Kit also features the same gift as the Welcome Kit but don't quote me on that!

So Rouge is also available in full size on Sephora website (link below). Must be a VIB Rouge to buy!

  • This is the exact shade of red that I’ve been wanting to try–it’s so classic and sexy! The color and finish are beautiful and I, agree, it’d look amazing on fair to deep skin tones. I’m definitely not at the Rouge level (I actually lost my VIB status this year), but this is quite a nice gift for those who do qualify.

    • Did you at least pick up your Sephora birthday gift yet? Your birthday was earlier this month right? NARS Cruella is included in the gift and it’s one SEXY matte red lipstick! I love it! :)

  • Oh now that’s a stunning red and looks fantastic on you! I haven’t requalified for Rouge as yet this year. Almost there though. Somehow it makes me feel better to requalify at least half way through the year, lol. The things we tell ourselves. Can’t wait for this perk. :-)

    • I’m not exactly proud of myself that I requalified so early in the year. ^_^” But then again, I had to buy backups of my favorite products before my move. :)

  • Hey Jaa, this is such a gorgeous red on you! I really love it! Too bad it doesn’t last more than a few hours, but I honestly don’t expect most lipsticks to last 10 hours. That promise is a bit outrageous!

  • What a stunning color on you! I’ve qualified for Rouge every year since it’s been introduced. Every year, I feel like I shouldn’t be proud of this “accomplishment”, LOLOL! My friend qualified and said she hoped her husband never found out how much one has to spend to be a Rouge, LOL! (>_<) I love the free shipping. They recently upgraded to free 2 day shipping here! Amazing!

    • It’s nice of them to offer free Flash shipping to us Rouge! Every little thing counts, you know? I remember the shock on my bf’s face the first time when I told him that one has to spend 1K a year to qualify for a Rouge status. I never told him anymore after that when I re-qualify. Haha

  • Sephora and I are done. I used up my points then have not purchased anything since. I’ve been shopping from Nordstrom and instead. I do miss perks like this, but I don’t think I’d start spending a lot to achieve the VIB rouge status.
Having said all that, So Rouge is so hot on you!! <3 And you have to be a VIB rouge to purchase a full size? Sheesh ;-/

    • Huh? Why? What happened? I’m nosy, please tell me. LOL It’s hard to imagine myself not shopping at Sephora but I guess it’s doable!

    • Thanks so much, Lisa! I can easily improve the wear time by applying it over a liner and blotting between layers so it’s no big deal. :D

  • Hi, im a Rouge. And i was requaified in March. Should i just come and pick up this kit at the sephora stores?

    Thank you

    • Yep! They should be able to look up your account to see that you requalified and that you haven’t received your renewal kit! :)

  • Even the card is pretty. lol Like shiny Christmas wrapping paper. Mine is in the mail. They confused me in the email because they only state that two things are in the kit, the lipstick and all access pass. Not a VIB Rouge card.
