The same awesomeness as the original Primer Potion but with anti-aging ingredients? Take my wallet! :)
Urban Decay just came out with a new eyeshadow primer that promises to keep your eyeshadow looking fresh with all the good benefits of anti-aging properties to help minimize fine lines and imperfections. And boy, am I glad they replaced the old genie bottles with the ever convenient squeeze, needle-nose tubes.
According to Urban Decay:
In an 8-week clinical study:
• 100% of participants had a measurable improvement in the appearance of fine lines
• 100% had measurably brighter skin
• 97% had a measurable improvement in radiance and clarity
I can't confirm all these claims since I've only used it a couple times in the past few weeks. The texture is very much like the original formula, smooth and very easy to spread out. It's also lightweight and doesn't cause dry, white patches like some other primers do. You only need just a tiny, tiny dab on each lid for eyeshadow colors to show up, and I mean show up intense. My shadows usually stay throughout the day without any fading or creasing.
I also notice that it is slightly more “yellow” than the original version (see a swatch below), probably due to the colored pigments added to reduce redness, color-correct, and to “blur” imperfections.
If you already own the original and are not too concerned about wrinkles/redness/puffiness, you may skip it. But for me, prevention is the key and I'd do all in my power to slow down the aging process. Because of oily lids, I always put on eye primer to prevent creasing, and now with the anti-wrinkle ingredients? As I said, please take my money!
